What Link Transcription Does
You find a video online you want to reference — a conference talk, a tutorial, a documentary. Normally you'd watch it and take notes manually. Audio Note's link transcription skips all that: paste the URL, and the app downloads the audio, transcribes it locally, and gives you a searchable text document.
Platform support can change with upstream download capabilities, platform rules, and content permissions. Before relying on it, check the current Audio Note app behavior and the target platform's copyright or download rules.
How to Use It
- Copy the URL from your browser
- In Audio Note, go to Link Transcription in the sidebar
- Paste the URL and click Transcribe
- Wait for the download and transcription to complete
That's it. The result is a transcript with timestamps, just like a file transcription.

Handling Multiple Links
If you have a playlist or a list of URLs, Audio Note supports batch pasting. Downloads and transcription jobs enter a queue; actual concurrency and processing speed depend on network conditions, platform limits, model choice, and your hardware.
To batch process:
- Go to Link Transcription
- Paste multiple URLs (one per line)
- Click Transcribe All
Available Languages
Link transcription can handle languages supported by your selected Audio Note transcription model. The model auto-detects the language from the audio, or you can set it manually if you know what to expect.
A Note on Copyright
Audio Note doesn't host or re-upload any content. The transcription feature is intended as a personal tool for note-taking and research — similar to manually taking notes while watching a video. If you plan to publish transcripts, make sure you have the right to do so.
